Yamas and Niyamas

The Yamas and Niyamas are the foundational principles of being in Yoga. These ethics and practices help one to embody the wisdom and oneness and bring it in to the waking state.

Although this diagram is linear, I don't find the practices to work in that way, I see it as a wheel. For when one gets a glimpse of pure freedom in Samadhi, one wonders how to bring that to the waking state, and the cycle of yoga continues. Yamas and Niyamas are a guide for bringing the peace and stillness of Samadhi in to daily life.
