About the Event

In Chinese medicine "Second Spring" is the name given to the season of menopause. It represents the renewal of energy and opportunities as there is a shift from fertility and reproduction, to conserving and nourishing the Self. Ageing is something that is revered in Asian culture. Knowing yourself more deeply, embodying wisdom and exuding confidence is celebrated.

We took inspiration from this outlook. For most of us in the western world, the season of menopause is tarnished with a coat of "no thanks". A stage of life where you are not current, unuseful and obsolete. Indeed menopause is generally not a conversation point until you or someone you know arrives there.

We believe that this period of time should be honored for the beauty that it is. A time of deep reflection and tuning in to our body.  Observing what may have been ignored or repressed and and allowing for renewal, a shedding of the 'skin' as we release our younger identities and confidently step out as empowered elders. This time isn't always easy because there is so much change in the physical and emotional bodies. But it is a time when we can lean in to our sisterhood and share knowledge, create bonds and share the sacred divine feminine wisdom that we are.

Your facilitators are here to share stress reduction techniques to help you through this confusing time.

Sarah Cormack, menopause coach, will share nutritional and wellness information to keep you balanced

Melissa Lyons, yoga therapist and breathwork coach will lead you through empowering breathwork to shed the old and embrace the new
