grief: intense emotional suffering. The word origins stem from Latin : To feel Heavy. Grief does make us feel heavy.
Heavy in sorrow, sadness, anguish, heartache, misery, agony, distress, pain, woe, melancholy, sorrow, sadness, anguish, heartache, misery, agony, distress, pain, woe, melancholy.
We feel grief when we have experienced loss in our lives. There are so many circumstances that life presents that lead to loss. There is not one loss that is greater than another, because the body doesn't know the difference. It will go through the same process to grieve, no matter the circumstance. With that, we humans are bounded by our suffering. We can know and empathise with another persons loss, and we can learn that we are not alone in our suffering.
If you have experienced loss, you may have felt it consume you, or felt an urge to run away from the pain.
This program is designed to support you in the process of BEING with the suffering. Each week delivers a new theme to weave in to your experiences and contemplations. Using a proven method of mindful movement, meditation and group sharing, we will uncover tools that you can use to be with your grief in a compassionate way.
These tools are simple, and profound, and will equip you well on your path of grieving.
Classes are at Yoga By The Sea in Roberts Creek. Our 5 hour silent retreat will be at a location yet to be determined.
Groups are limited to 8 participants and sell out fast. Early registration is recommended.
